Richard Cooper added to his winning tally in the ABK Beer 0% BMW F 900 R Cup by claiming the win in the Main Event Race at Donington Park for the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team, with Thomas Strudwick and Michael Rutter completing the podium.
Nikki Coates had been the initial race leader at the start ahead of Cooper and Rutter, but by the second lap, Cooper had emerged ahead as the pair battled for the advantage. Coates though crashed out of contention and that promoted Strudwick into second ahead of Christian Smith, Rutter and Barry Burrell.
Cooper edged an advantage at the front of the field, ahead of Strudwick who held second with a three-way scrap for the final podium position. Rutter though gave it everything on the final lap to hold third, narrowly ahead of Burrell who claimed his first Main Event podium of the season.
James O’Mara was fifth ahead of Kieran Smith, James Kelly and Mason Johnson who completed the top eight.
