Liam Delves will deputise for the injured Héctor Barberá this weekend as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads to Brands Hatch for the sixth round of the season.
Delves parted ways with the Rapid CDH Racing Kawasaki team by mutual decision last week, but he is ready to return this weekend on board the Honda CBR1000RR-R SP Fireblade. Having worked closely with the TAG Racing team previously, Delves is looking forward to returning to the team this weekend.
Delves said: “I am excited to be going to Brands Hatch this weekend with TAG after some recent uncertainty. My ambitions to succeed remain unchanged, and I have had some incredible support from fans and sponsors alike.
“I have spent a lot of time both personally and professionally with the TAG Racing team; we work really well together. I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen and I want to wish Hector a speedy recovery.”
Gary Winfield, Team Manger said: “It is the right decision for Hector to miss this Round as he continues to rebuild the strength in his left leg since the race two incident at Snetterton.
“Liam is a confident rider with a keen desire to push forwards and bring back some competitive points. Liam has proven himself to be a really adaptable rider and as a team, we feel that Liam will gel quickly with the machine and enjoy some success this weekend.”
