GR Motosport announce return of Stacey and Francis for Bennetts BSB and Superstock season

30 January 2023

As the countdown continues to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship season opener, GR Motosport have confirmed they will retain their line-up for 2023 with Storm Stacey returning for a fourth season and Joe Francis lining up for his second season in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.

19-year-old Stacey returns for his fifth season with the Sheffield-based team, first competing in the Superstock class before progressing as one of the youngest riders to compete in Bennetts BSB. The Staffordshire contender has been battling for top ten finishes in recent seasons and is ready to build on those performances this year.

Francis is one of the most experienced riders on the Superstock grid and he continues with the team into the 2023 season. The Cheshire contender claimed top ten finishes, best result seventh at Snetterton last year and is bidding to return stronger when the season gets underway at Easter.

Stacey said: “I am super pleased to have signed with GR Motosport again as there are a few changes going into the new season and I am excited about that! It should be a good year and I think that the door is open for us to aim for the top ten and pinch a few top fives! I am looking forward to getting back to the tracks and seeing the BSB fans again as it is never the same over the winter!”

Francis said: “I’m very happy to be continuing with GR Motosport and the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki for the 2023 Superstock season. I am looking forward to putting all of the hard work from last season together so that we can hit the ground running for round one. Testing can’t come quick enough! It’s a great opportunity and I am thankful to Brent and everyone for believing in me.”

Team Owner Brent Gladwin concluded: “We are excited about 2023 so it’s really good to be able to continue with Storm and Joe, as both riders have great potential with the Team for the coming season. We do have quite a few new changes happening which will be revealed shortly, but importantly for the moment I am pleased to say that STAUFF Fluid Power will continue their title partnership of the Superstock team into a brilliant tenth season.

“Watch this space, as I am really looking forward to unveiling the new and celebratory liveries for 2023 to you all very soon.”
