The battle for the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship kicks off this weekend at Silverstone, and as the riders compete for the biggest title in British motorsport, the Bennetts BSB Teams will also be dueling to lift the Bennetts BSB Teams Championship for the Ceratizit Trophy.
Last season LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team were victorious in both the Riders and Teams Championship and they will be bidding to retain the title, with the Teams Championship running concurrently alongside the Riders’ Championship.
The point’s format remains the same across both Championship standings, but in the Bennetts BSB Teams Championship, a single rider team will receive the same value points, whilst a multi-rider team will receive the average of the points scoring riders in the team.
Four of the current teams have been previous title-winners in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Paul Bird’s PBM team lead the statistics with eight ahead of Honda Racing UK, headed by Havier Beltran. Whilst in most recent seasons title wins have come from McAMS Yamaha, owned by Steve Rodgers and the defending Champions LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha, led by Alan Gardner.
