Danny Buchan will sit out this weekend’s second round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park as he continues his recovery from injuries sustained in a crash at the season opener at Silverstone.
Buchan said: “I’ve done everything possible to get fit but following several consultations with doctors and specialists, time has beaten my recovery to compete this weekend. I fractured both T2 and T4 vertebra and part of my pelvis, plus my foot still needs more time.
“I’m gutted to miss Oulton Park as it’s a track I love. I know it’s disappointing for the team and our fans, but I will be back at Donington Park in a few weeks’ time.”
Buchan will be at Oulton Park this weekend to meet fans and welcome guests, whilst the team will continue with Alastair Seeley, campaigning official BMW machinery in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship on the SYNETIQ BMW.
