Toms returns in Superstock with move to Platform Hire Racing

08 March 2022

TJ Toms will make a return to the Pirelli National Superstock Championship this season, joining the Platform Hire Racing as he bids to build on his 2021 campaign.

The 20-year-old contender from Somerset will join the team for the new season which gets underway at Silverstone this Easter, aiming to build scoring points last year following his move from the Junior Superstock series.

Toms said: “I can’t thank Dave and Mandy from the Platform Hire Racing team enough for the opportunity and I am really excited to be joining them for the 2022 season. I feel that the team has a great package and we can be a championship contender this year.

“It gives me a lot of confidence going into the season knowing the team, from their previous foundations as Morello Racing, has previously won two Superstock titles. I think we are capable of fighting for the championship and I am hoping to build some good valuable points in the opening rounds.”

Team Owner Dave Williams commented: “Both myself and join team owner Mandy are very excited to sign TJ Tomms for the 2022 season. We have been watching the progress of his racing career over the last few years and we have been impressed with his results, especially during his time in Junior Superstock. We feel that we can give him the bike to be a regular top five finisher and ultimately a contender for the championship.”
