26 January 2022

The Synergy Racing team has revealed their three-strong rider line-up across the Pirelli National Superstock and HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championships.

The team re-signed Taylor Rose for a second consecutive season to fight for the Junior Superstock title aboard the Kawasaki. Rose joined Synergy Racing mid-way through last season after being hindered by injury and is ready for his first full season with the team this year.

Zak Shelton is gearing up for a Junior Superstock campaign this year, having previously celebrated the Thundersport GP2 Cup Supertwins/Stocktwins title wins in 2019 before progressing to National level, he is all set for the new challenge.

The team complete their line-up with Lewis Lakey, who debuted in the HEL Performance British Pirelli Junior Supersport Championship last season.

He has been racing for 2 years with the second year having debuted last year in the Junior Supersport where he looks to continue his progression in the British Superbike paddock with the Synergy team.

Rose said: “I am really excited to re-sign with the team for the 2022 season. I have continued to build my fitness throughout the winter period so I can be the best. I want to hit the ground running and my ultimate goal is to remain consistent and get into the points.”

Shelton said: “I am really excited to get underway onboard the Kawasaki with Synergy Racing this year in the Junior Superstock class. It’s an extremely competitive class, which I’m preparing myself for, I just want to learn while getting results at the same time. Synergy has the potential to do great things in the BSB paddock and I’m happy to join them on the way.”

Lakey said: “I am really excited to work with the Synergy Racing Team for the 2022 season. I have worked hard up to this point, but I know there is still a lot to learn, which is why I wanted to be a part of this particular team with a good amount of experience with in the junior levels. Thank you to Graham and the team for taking me on.”

Team Owner Graham Carter concluded: “After a difficult start in 2021, we were left with no option but to miss the first half of the season due to our original rider having to pull out. Introducing Taylor to the BSB paddock at Silverstone saw us back in the series, allowing the team to finish on a high and motivated for a full assault in 2022.

“Taylor displayed great potential in the four rounds he completed last year, taking everything that was thrown at him in his stride, making huge progress and development every time he went out. We are all really excited to see what he can bring to the table this year and are grateful that we are the ones that can help him reach his potential!

“Synergy was created to bring young talent into the bigger classes in BSB and give them a fighting chance. Being able to work with Zak and Lewis follows our team ethos. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and that of our current riders to bring them into this season with the upper hand. This is the biggest year yet for the team and we are grateful to everyone for being involved!"
