Skinner misses out on top spot in final practice to Glenn Irwin

18 June 2022

Glenn Irwin topped the times in the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship free practice session at Knockhill, edging out home hero Rory Skinner to set the pace ahead of SUPERPICKS Qualifying.

Skinner had been leading the times at the midway point of the session ahead of Storm Stacey and Tommy Bridewell, however with ten minutes left on the clock the Cheshire Mouldings FS-3 Racing Kawasaki pairing of Skinner and Jackson locked out the top positions.

The session was red flagged with just over eight minutes remaining when Leon Jeacock crashed and his stricken Specsavers Suzuki in the track.

Once the debris was cleared and the session resumed, Glenn Irwin was able to improve his pace to edge to the top of the times.

Skinner held second ahead of Jackson and Bradley Ray, who overcame his lack of track time yesterday following a crash to move fourth fastest with Jason O'Halloran completing the top five.

Danny Buchan was sixth for SYNETIQ BMW ahead of Christian Iddon and Kyle Ryde. Bridewell and Josh Brookes completed the top ten.
