Kyle Ryde set the pace in the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship Official Test session at Silverstone this morning, putting the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha at the top of the times by 0.178s at the chequered flag.
Ryde had posted the leading time with just two minutes remaining of the session as conditions continued to change, but in the final minutes there was a shakeup at the top as Ryan Vickers, Josh Brookes and Glenn Irwin improved their time, nudging Dan Linfoot back into fifth.
Danny Buchan posted the sixth fastest time for the SYNETIQ BMW team, just ahead of Takumi Takahashi and Peter Hickman, who completed the top eight riders on track.
Christian Iddon led the Buildbase Suzuki charge in ninth place with Ryo Mizuno completing the top ten ahead of the second session this afternoon.
