Bradley Ray became the second rider to confirm his place in the 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown and the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha rider admits confidence is high ahead of Cadwell Park this weekend.
Ray bagged a trio of podium finishes at Thruxton, with 24-points separating him from Jason O'Halloran at the top of the standings and more crucially, 13 podium points adrift with six races remaining before the Showdown.
Ray said: “It was nice to confirm the Showdown; but there are still six races to go and the aim is to get as many podium points as possible from these next races before the Showdown starts. Then we can concentrate on fighting for the championship.
“I feel pretty good and I am looking forward to Cadwell Park. I have never been there before on the Yamaha or tested there on it, but if I am honest I am feeling very confident with the package we have and with some testing there we can get ourselves up to speed and find the setting ready for the weekend.
“Overall I am absolutely buzzing as I feel that we are coming into some strong tracks for myself and the bike now – I just need to keep doing what we have been doing and try and score as many podiums that we can and once we get to the Showdown we can be in the fight. I am super happy and really enjoying riding right now.”
