16 April 2022

Bradley Ray leads the Bennetts British Superbike Championship pack into this afternoon’s SUPERPICKS qualifying session at Silverstone, holding off Tommy Bridewell in the closing stages of the final free practice by 0.208s.

Ray had maintained his position at the top of the timesheets for the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha team, with his fastest time coming on his final run of the session.

Christian Iddon surged up to third position in the final three minutes to push Kyle Ryde back into fourth place as Glenn Irwin completed the top five, which featured four different manufacturers this morning.

Leon Haslam made a welcome return to the top ten in sixth place for the VisionTrack Kawasaki team, narrowly edging ahead of Peter Hickman on the FHO Racing BMW.

Danny Kent had moved into the top three in the final ten minutes, but a burst of late improvements in the session from his rivals dropped him to eighth place ahead of the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki pairing of Lee Jackson and Rory Skinner.

Yesterday’s pace-setter Jason O'Halloran set the eleventh fastest time this morning for McAMS Yamaha with MCE Ducati holding 15th and 16th places with Tom Sykes and Josh Brookes respectively.
