18 February 2022

Former National Superstock 600 champion, Korie McGreevy will join Harvey Claridge in the Quattro Group British GP2 Championship this season, signing to compete with Go Racing SGR.

McGreevy from Ballynahinch in Northern Ireland, has already proved he can win a title and the 24-year-old is ready to make the switch to the GP2 class after competing in last year’s Supersport Championship. Claridge from Worthing has one season under his belt with Go Racing SGR and is now ready to build on his experiences to target success in 2022.

Go Developments Racing from Oxfordshire, joined forces with SGR Racing two years ago and successfully completed the GP2 class with Tom Oliver and then Cameron Horsman, both taking third place in the respective championships.

Claridge said: “After a very intense first season with little testing I’m excited to get back on the bike with this great team and continue to progress in the GP2 class.”

McGreevy said: “I’m very excited to join the team; they have initially impressed me with their ambition and enthusiasm. I believe it will give me the best chance to do what we want to achieve. Very much looking forward to testing in Spain at the start of March. Many thanks to my sponsors as always for making it, along with Glenn Irwin for his input.”

Stephen Kinghorn said: ‘It is great to be involved in this exciting project helping to develop two up and coming riders and develop the team’s GP2 bike. Bring on the racing.”

Mark Sadler, Technical Director concluded: “I’m really happy to go into the 2022 season with the combination of Harvey and Korie on the team. After a strong learning year from Harvey in 2021, having Korie come into the team with his experience and determination is sure to move the whole team forward and challenge for the title this year.

“It’s great to have continued support from SGR, Nova Racing and new sponsors JAB Racing.”
