Evan Belford announced his return to the championship with a solid win over Sullivan Mounsey, as polesitter and early leader Johnny Garness crashed out.
Garness took the lead from Belford on lap two and quickly built a three second lead, but crashed out himself on lap nine, throwing away what looked set to be another win - and handing the lead back to Belford, who makes his return this weekend following an injury at Silverstone earlier in the year.
From there it was a race between Mounsey and Belford, but Belford looked to have it in control as he led into the final lap and wasn’t challenged to the line.
Mounsey brought his machine home second, three seconds ahead of local hero Troy Jeffrey. Fourth rider home was Bailey Stuart-Campbell with Kiyano Veijer fifth.
