Peter Hickman set the opening pace at the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Official Test at Oulton Park this morning, firing the FHO Racing BMW to the top of the times, to hold off McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O'Halloran by 0.633s.
Tommy Bridewell initially led the hour-long session, but Hickman continued to up the pace to set his fastest lap on his final run just ahead of the chequered flag.
O’Halloran had moved up the order to move into second place ahead of Silverstone triple race winner Glenn Irwin in third position for Honda Racing UK.
Bradley Ray set his best time of the session in the final five minutes, leading the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamahas in fourth place as SYNETIQ BMW’s Danny Buchan completed the top five.
Ryan Vickers was sixth fastest on the FHO Racing BMW by Attis Sports, moving ahead of Bridewell in the closing stages and Ducati rival Josh Brookes in eighth place.
The Buildbase Suzukis completed the top ten with Danny Kent leading Christian Iddon at the chequered flag.
