Kieran Kent claimed pole position for the opening Hel Performance British Junior Supersport Championship race at Donington Park, snatching the top position on the times in a frantic end to the qualifying session.
Kent had been running at the sharp end on his D&P Lovell Kent Racing Kawasaki, but the order continued to change in the final ten minutes of the race one grid deciding session.
Moffitt went top with just under eight minutes of the session remaining, as Kent got eased down the order. However, Kent hit back as the session ticked down and with just over four minutes remaining, he went back to the top of the times.
A flurry of activity in the final minutes meant that Kent held his edge with three minutes remaining whilst Harry Cook also elevating himself into second position with James McManus holding third.
But McManus has more pace to come and he moved into second in the closing minute from Kieran Smith who completes the front row ahead of the race tomorrow.
Jack Kirsch will head the second two from Lewis Jones as Cook dropped to sixth place in the final moments to complete row two.
