Gearlink Kawasaki have announced the signing of former Quattro Group British Supersport Championship Champion Luke Stapleford ahead of this weekend’s second round of the season ar Oulton Park.
Following a successful test at Cadwell Park earlier this week, Stapleford will make his return to the class, working with Team Green starting this weekend.
Stapleford said: “I’m really happy to be joining the Gearlink Kawasaki Team. I’ve raced against them for many years but have never ridden for them. Whilst it’s been a few years since I’ve raced in Supersport, it has always been my favourite type of bike to race.
“I’d like to thank Michael, Ben and the whole team for the opportunity and although it’s not something that was planned, I’ll be working hard to get myself into a position to achieve the results that both myself and the team know we are capable of.
“I believe the combination of myself and Ben will be a good team with the amount of experience we both have in the Supersport class and I can’t wait to get going. I’m looking forward to being back in the paddock and heading out of pitlane for FP1.”
Team Manager Ben Wilson said: “After a difficult start to the season we are really excited to have Luke riding the Gearlink Kawasaki. At the test, he looked comfortable on the bike straight away. Luke has a lot of experience and form in this Supersport class, and we will now work with him and Zak to get the bikes to the sharp end.”
