Blaze Baker made an incredible debut in the Ducati TriOptions Cup at Donington Park, claiming a hard fought double win as he moved into sixth place in the standings as Tom Tunstall captured the lead after a tough weekend for David Shoubridge.
Shoubridge led on the opening lap, but crashed at Melbourne and that left Baker leading on the second lap from Tunstall and Bob Collins.
The South African continued to try and make a break at the front of the pack but Max Lofthouse moved into third on lap four, nudging Collins back a position.
Collins retaliated and was back into third on the same lap, but in the meantime, Tunstall had taken the lead as the race reached half race distance.
Baker then regained the lead and was starting to try and break Tunstall with the pair having a slight advantage over Collins as he bid for a debut podium ahead of Lofthouse.
The battle for third was continuing as Lofthouse moved back ahead with three laps to go and then Collins was back ahead on the penultimate lap, holding off Lofthouse to the chequered flag to claim a podium on his debut. Lofthouse and Tustin completed the top five ahead of Brands Hatch next weekend.
