Josh Brookes was back on track back home in Australia this weekend as the FHO Racing BMW contender returned to his home circuit of Sydney Motorsport Park to compete in the St George Motorcycle Club Summer Series in their night races.
Double Bennetts BSB champion Brookes got his first taste of the Livson Racing BMW in qualifying, claiming pole position and then went on to claim a pair of race wins in addition to a second place in the opening race.
Brookes said: “I took part in round one of the St George Motorcycle Club Summer Series. The first time I’d seen the bike was when I arrived at the workshop and we spent an hour getting me comfortable adjusting handle bar and seat position.
“We arrived at the track and went straight into qualifying, as there is no practice, so credit to Jake who made the 10 hour drive up from Melbourne for giving me a great package that allowed me to put the Livson Racing BMW on pole straight out the box and take a couple of wins too.
“I want to say thanks to my boss Faye Ho and FHO Racing for collaborating and allowing me to take part in this event. Sydney Motorsport Park is not only one of my favorite circuits, but my home track too, so to be able to race there at night, under lights was really enjoyable and I’ll be back for round 2 next weekend!”
