26 January 2022

Synergy Racing have announced the signing of 2018 British Motostar champion Jake Archer to the team for the 2022 season aboard the FTR GP-2 machine in the Quattro Group British Supersport and GP2 Championship series.

Archer celebrated success in the Motostar class before making the switch to the GP2 series where he claimed top five finishes during last year’s championship season, with a best result of fourth at Donington Park.

This will be the Tewkesbury-based team’s third season in the British Championship paddock however, running the GP2 machine will see Synergy debut in the British Supersport class.

Archer said: “I am very excited to be joining the Synergy Racing team on the FTR GP-2. I’ve had a tough three years, so I’m really excited for this new challenge and hopefully be back up the front battling for the championship where we know we should be. I am very thankful to Graham for giving me this opportunity and having faith in me.”

Team Principal Graham Carter commented: “I've followed Jake from an early age in Moto3 days, watching him win the championship all those years ago. To have a rider of Jake’s caliber representing us at such a high level is a huge opportunity for the team. We are all grateful for the wealth of knowledge he will bring to the others and help us all progress long into the future. Jake has had a tough time of late and it's time he is given the tools he needs to show this class what he is truly capable of!”
