The 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship kicked off at Silverstone this afternoon as McAMS Yamaha rider set the opening pace in SUPERPICKS Free Practice session one, taking the top spot in the closing minutes.
The leading 24 riders were covered by just 0.954s as the action got underway in glorious conditions and just 0.114s separated O’Halloran from SYNETIQ BMW’s Danny Buchan, with Bradley Ray maintaining his pace from testing to finish third for Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha.
Christian Iddon had been setting the pace earlier in the session for Buildbase Suzuki, he split the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamahas as he edged out Kyle Ryde and Lee Jackson.
Glenn Irwin was seventh fastest for Honda Racing UK as Tommy Bridewell completed the top eight after topping last week’s Official Test as Rory Skinner and Peter Hickman rounded out the top ten.
