Team Kovara Projects/RS Racing has announced the signing of Jack Scott ahead of the 2022 Quattro Group British GP2 Championship season as they look to battle for the fourth title in the series as Ryan Saxelby’s team will continue their partnership with Kovara Projects, the UK’s leading specialist roofing and cladding contractors.
The 20-year-old from Harpenden made his debut in the GP2 class in 2019, finishing in ninth, taking a class win and four podiums. He then finished runner-up in the 2020 title fight with seven podiums including two wins. This season despite an injury, he celebrated eight podium finishes to claim seventh place in the standings.
Scott said: “I am really excited for 2022 and to be back riding for RS Racing, we had a very successful year in 2018 on the Moto3. I will be riding the Moto2 Kalex after two years on the Harris Performance Moto 2. I am looking forward to being under Ryan’s wing as his experience and knowledge will hopefully get me on the top step. Let’s do this team!”
Peter Lucey, Managing Director of Kovara Projects, said: “We are delighted to be back once again for the 2022 season as title sponsor to RS Racing. Jack is an incredibly talented rider, and it is our pleasure to be supporting him in the GP2 Championship. This is an extremely exciting time for all concerned and we would like to wish the team and Jack all the very best for the 2022 season.”
Ryan Saxelby, Team Owner, said: “We are delighted to have an incredibly talented rider signed up for the 2022 season. We can now turn our attentions to our pre-season preparations to ensure that everything is in place for testing and then the opening round of the Championship at Silverstone in April. I would like to thank Peter and Sheryl at Kovara Projects for their continued support and firmly believe we can reward their loyalty with a fourth title in the GP2 class.”
