Damon Rees will make the switch to the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship for the 2022 season, re-signing with the Ashcourt Racing team after competing in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship for the past two seasons.
Rees has previously had success in his native New Zealand Supersport Championship, which he won in 2017 and also claimed podiums in the Australian Supersport Championship.
Rees said: “I am super excited to announce that I will be remaining with Ashcourt Racing for the 2022 season, but with a little twist! I will be racing aboard an YZF-R6 to contest the Supersport Championship.
“I know this is a big change, but the team and I think it is the best decision for the progression of my career. I have proven to be extremely competitive in Supersport after winning the 2017 NZSBK Supersport Championship, multiple Tri Series championships and podiums in the ASBK Australian Supersport Championship.
“I am also excited to share that Carl Cox Motorsport will remain as my personal naming sponsor in 2022. I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone for their support this season, and I have a feeling great things are to come in 2022.”
