Kyle Smith topped the Quattro Group British Supersport qualifying session to take pole position ahead of this afternoon’s Sprint race. It was Smith who was the provisional pole sitter after the opening laps, but Jack Kennedy had soon gone quicker, taking top spot with 18 minutes to go.
Bradley Perrie was running second for the opening half of the session, with Lee Johnston third and Ben Currie fourth. With 12 minutes on remaining, Smith re-took the top spot, lapping 0.2s faster than Kennedy. Despite being able to close the gap to just 0.191s, Kennedy was unable to regain pole, eventually securing second place on the grid ahead of Perie. Charlie Nesbitt was the first of the GP2 machines, finishing 7th overall.
