Bennetts British Superbike Championship promoter and organiser MSVR has warmly welcomed the announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson that Step 4 on the roadmap will come into force in England from 19 July.
This remains subject to a final review of the data on Monday 12 July, however the expectation is that all legal restrictions on social distancing will be removed one week later. This will mean the return of full crowds to the remaining rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship for the first time since 2019.
The next event scheduled to take place after this date is the Monster Energy Brands Hatch round on 23-25 July.
Bennetts BSB Series Director Stuart Higgs commented: “The past 18 months have been incredibly difficult for every constituent of the championship, and we have done everything possible to keep the championship operational to the highest standard possible. The recent first round at Oulton Park was a great taste of things to come and we can’t wait to see the full spectacle of the championship return.
“We understand that there will be many questions and we hope to answer these in full, on or around 12 July, when more detail is made available by the government. In the meantime, we will liaise with our circuit partners to plan in detail for the restoration of unrestricted spectator attendance.
“Finally, I’d like to thank all of our teams, riders, commercial, organisation and media partners and of course the amazing fans of the championship who are set fair to come home!"
