The Birchall brothers cruised to a dominant victory in the opening Molson Group British Sidecar race, securing the victory by 9.4 seconds. Launching off the line, the duo were in a class of their own at the front. The Christie brothers were second, some eight seconds ahead of Lawrie and Smithies who completed the podium in third.
