Glenn Irwin topped the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship Free Practice session this morning at Donington Park, as the times tumbled and the leading four riders set a place under the existing lap record.
The Honda Racing rider went straight to the top early in the session, as championship leader Jason O'Halloran bounced back from his crash yesterday to finish second fastest for McAMS Yamaha and just ahead of Tarran Mackenzie.
Andrew Irwin climbed to fourth place in the closing minutes for SYNETIQ BMW, narrowly edging out his teammate Danny Buchan and Ryan Vickers, who completed the top six.
Yesterday’s pace-setter Peter Hickman was seventh fastest ahead of reigning champion Josh Brookes, whilst Tommy Bridewell and Xavi Forés completed the top ten ahead of SUPERPICKS Qualifying.
