The FIM MiniGP UK series will debut at Cadwell Park this weekend following the opening round of the season at Pembrey.
The Series is a collaboration between MSVR, ACU, BMB, Ohvale UK and Pirelli. As part of the FIM Mini GP World Series the UK Rounds are being held at British MiniBike events, one Bennetts BSB round here at Cadwell Park and one at the MotoGP at Silverstone next weekend.
The opening event at Pembrey saw the riders get dialed in with their Ohvale 160 bikes, with Harley McCabe setting the pace in qualifying ahead of Blake Wilson and Joshua Williams.
The inaugural race was won by Wilson, with less than a second covering the top four riders – Johnny Garness, Williams and Freddie Bridewell. Pole position rider McCabe ran wide at the start of the race before crashing. He was able to rejoin the race but sadly finished just outside of the points.
McCabe took the lead in race two and was under intense pressure from Garness. The pair along with Williams broke the chasing pack to eventually complete the podium.
FIM Mini GP UK Series Championship standings:
1. Johnny Garness 40
2. Joshua Williams 32
3. Harley McCabe 25
4. Blake Wilson 25
5. Samuel Munson 24
6. George Bowes 18
