Danny Buchan topped the times in the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship SUPERPICKS free practice session at Knockhill this morning, easing ahead of Christian Iddon in the final minutes to claim the top spot for SYNETIQ BMW.
Buchan remains the only rider on the current grid to have won at the Scottish circuit, and he was able to elevate himself to the top of the times in the closing moments of the session to move ahead of VisionTrack Ducati’s Iddon holding second place with standings leader Iddon in third.
Peter Hickman remains the sole FHO Racing BMW on track and he set the fourth fastest time. Teammate Xavi Forés attended the medical centre, where the two-week check X-ray showed a fracture of the scaphoid bone in the right wrist. He was advised on immobilisation and plans to get specialist treatment.
Bradley Ray was fifth fastest on the Rich Energy OMG Racing BMW, despite a crash in the final ten minutes of the session with Glenn Irwin completing the top six.
The home heroes sat seventh and eighth on the timing with Tarran Mackenzie on the second McAMS Yamaha just ahead of Rory Skinner with Ryan Vickers and Danny Kent completing the top ten.
