Josh Brookes shot back to the top of the timing screens in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship warm up this morning at Brands Hatch. The Australian set the pace for much of the 10-minute session on board his VisionTrack Ducati before becoming the only rider to dip below the 1m36s barrier with his final lap of the session.
Brookes had been unchallenged at the top in the damp conditions, initially leading teammate Christian Iddon and Danny Kent.
Tommy Bridewell then forced his way up the order, moving into second place at the halfway point of the session, however a final flurry of improvements in the closing stages dropped him to eleventh.
Danny Buchan elevated himself into second, narrowly ahead of Jason O'Halloran and his SYNETIQ BMW teammate Andrew Irwin.
Lee Jackson completed the top five with Danny Kent leading the Buildbase Suzuki charge in sixth place as he dropped from second position in the final minute of warm up.
FHO Racing BMW’s Peter Hickman was seventh fastest ahead of Bradley Ray with Tarran Mackenzie and Ryan Vickers completing the top ten.
