In their opening season in action, the team took race wins in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, before Ulsterman Josh Elliott line up alongside Luke Mossey on the OMG Racing Suzuki for the team’s second season of action. Former Superstock champion Elliott claimed the team their first race win in Bennetts British Superbike in 2019 at Silverstone.
In 2020, the newly renamed RICH Energy OMG Racing moved from Suzuki machinery to the new BMW S 1000 RR with Mossey and Héctor Barberá onboard, with the pair claiming top ten finishes.
For the 2021 season RICH Energy OMG Racing welcomed Kyle Ryde to the team, on a two-year deal, alongside Bradley Ray as the team lined up on the all-new BMW M 1000RR, after narrowly missing out on the Showdown, the team retained their line-up for the 2022 season but switched to Yamaha machinery for the first time.
Ray won the title for the first time as the team also celebrated a debut title, and returned with Ryde in 2023 along with Ryan Vickers. Ryde had a strong finish in third overall with Vickers taking his first race win and the pair returned as OMG GRILLA Ya,aha Racing teammates in 2024.
OMG Racing became the Officially Supported Yamaha Team within Bennetts BSB for 2024, and Ryde delivered an incredible season to take the title and give the team their second Championship crown.
Reigning Champion Kyle Ryde will be back to defend his title after OMG Racing were boosted by a late partnership with Nitrous Competitions.
Ryde claimed his debut title with OMG Racing last season in the most sensational Showdown in Championship history, winning by a single point after celebrating 18 podium finishes, and nine of those race victories. However, a bombshell was dropped when OMG Racing announced their shock withdrawal from the Championship as result of commercial circumstances rendering the championship-winning team and rider on the sidelines. In the following days an introduction made with Nitrous Competitions and a rescue plan was invoked. The prize is a restoration of the team in a restructured format allowing the championship defence to go ahead.
OMG Racing announced during the Brands Hatch round that Nitrous Competitions will take over the running of the team from Founder Alan Gardner. The team will now be known as Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing.
Both OMG Racing and Nitrous Competitions were formed in 2018, quickly rising to the top of their respective fields in a short space of time. OMG Racing, under the stewardship of Alan Gardner, took victory in both the 2022 and 2024 seasons, whilst Nitrous Competitions, started by David Williams and Matthew Phillips, reached the milestone of more than £100m of prizes being won this year.
The announcement sees Nitrous Competitions take full control of the team moving forward, ensuring that OMG Racing will remain within the world’s biggest domestic racing series for many years to come. David Williams, joint owner of Nitrous Competitions, is no stranger to the world of motorsport, competing himself on both two and four wheels, and can often be found at track days across the UK.
Reigning Bennetts British Superbike Champions Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha announced that they will return to a two-strong rider line-up from Thruxton as Glenn Irwin sensationally joins the team.
Multiple Bennetts BSB race winner and 2023-title runner-up Irwin will make the move to Yamaha for the first time, joining defending champion Kyle Ryde, as he makes his return from his Snetterton injury.

Between him and Kyle, we believe we have the strongest pairing on the current grid, and are entering the second half of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship season with a stronger sense of optimism than ever.”
