Aaron Zanotti Racing has announced today (Thursday) that his Team 64 will continue to line up on the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid in 2019, signing rookie Sam Coventry to field the team’s Kawasaki for his debut season in the premier class.

Zanotti has been a regular contender in the championship since making his debut in 2007 before establishing his own team a year later and campaigning in the series until announcing his retirement from racing at the end of this season.

Coventry will make his Bennetts BSB debut in 2019 after seasons in the support classes, most recently including the Ducati TriOptions Cup and the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Coventry said: “I’m excited to be entering the Superbike Championship this coming season and feel it’s a great time to do so. Team 64 are a well-established team and with Aaron’s wealth of experience on and off track I feel it will be beneficial for my rookie year in the series.

“It’s going to be a learning year but we have realistic targets which I believe we can achieve. I’ve worked hard for this opportunity and I’m grateful to Aaron and Neil. I can’t wait to start our testing programme and get underway. Thank you to everyone who has enabled me to take this opportunity. Roll on 2019!”

Team Owner Zanotti commented:  “We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team after spending some time looking for someone young with enough experience behind them. Sam met all the criteria we were looking for and has produced some good results along the way, so we are looking forward to working with him and excited to see if we can help him make his mark in the premier class.”
