Rogers and Morello Racing join forces for 2020 Superstock Championship campaign

Multiple Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship winners Morello Racing have announced the signing of Fraser Rogers, who returns to the Norwich-based team for the 2020 season.

The 23-year old previously rode for the team in 2016 and 2017 and will now make a concerted attack on next year’s Championship riding a Kawasaki ZX-10RR once more as Steve Buckenham’s team look to get back to the winning ways that saw Josh Elliott and Danny Buchan win the title for them in 2015 and 2017 respectively.

Rogers impressed when he first rode for the team in 2016 finishing sixth overall and that season saw him take two podiums. Team-mate to eventual champion Buchan in 2017, the Swindon-based rider took another podium, with 16 top ten finishes, seven of them inside the top six, helping him end the year in eighth overall.

Rogers re-joined Morello Racing for the final two rounds of this year’s Superstock series where he claimed excellent finishes of fourth and sixth at Brands Hatch and Donington Park respectively.

Rogers said: “I'm really happy to have signed for Morello Racing and I believe we can do a very good job together next year - my only goal is to be fighting for the Championship from round one onwards. Thank you to everyone that's made it possible especially Steve for giving me the opportunity. I can't wait to get started, I can't wait to get testing and I can't wait to get to round one."

Team Owner Steve Buckenham commented: “It’s great to welcome Fraser back into the team especially as we believe riding for the Gearlink Kawasaki team in the premier BSB class has turned him into a more mature rider. He did a great job standing in for us at the last two rounds of this season, taking two strong top six finishes, and with a good pre-season testing schedule in place and the whole team behind him, we’re hoping for very good things in 2020.”
