Redding leads the pack into Datatag Qualifying at Brands Hatch

Scott Redding ended the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship free practice session fastest at Brands Hatch this morning, edging out his teammate Josh Brookes by 0.283s in the last minutes of the session, displacing his Australian rival from the top.

Redding had been getting to grips with the Grand Prix circuit and continued to up the pace, but only just toppling his Be Wiser Ducati rival who had topped yesterday’s sessions.

The pair had Tommy Bridewell in close contention on the Oxford Racing Ducati with Tarran Mackenzie also in the fray for the leading positions throughout the session for McAMS Yamaha.

Christian Iddon continued his momentum from yesterday’s afternoon session to hold fifth for Tyco BMW ahead of Danny Buchan on the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki and Jason O'Halloran on the second of the McAMS Yamahas.

Keith Farmer moved up the order into eighth for Tyco BMW towards the end of the session with Buildbase Suzuki having a stronger final session to complete the top ten with Bradley Ray narrowly ahead of teammate Luke Stapleford.

The session was red flagged in the final minutes after Ryan Vickers crashed out at Clearways, he was initially unconscious so will take no further part in this weekend’s action.
