O’Halloran stays ahead as Datatag Qualifying beckons at Donington Park

Jason O'Halloran maintained his position at the top of the free practice times ahead of this afternoon’s opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship race of the 2020 season at Donington Park. The McAMS Yamaha rider held off Danny Buchan by 0.262s in the second session.

The positions continued to shuffle in the closing stages with Buchan holding the top spot until the final three minutes when the McAMS Yamaha rider surged ahead.

The biggest surge up the order came from Buildbase Suzuki’s Kyle Ryde and he held third position at the chequered flag from Héctor Barberá on the Rich Energy OMG Racing BMW and Ryan Vickers on the RAF Regular and Reserve Kawasaki.

Joe Francis had another strong session on the Lloyd & Jones Bowker BMW, to keep Andrew Irwin at bay by just 0.001s at the end of the final free practice.

VisionTrack Ducati’s Josh Brookes was eighth fastest, just ahead of his main rival from last season, Tommy Bridewell in ninth place with Glenn Irwin completing the top ten ahead of Datatag Qualifying and race one this afternoon.
