O’Halloran: “I want to be first not second”

Jason O'Halloran heads into this weekend’s opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in a confident mood following last week’s official test at Silverstone when the McAMS Yamaha rider topped the times.

The Australian contender has shown a strong pace throughout winter testing, topping the Portimao test before continuing his early form into the final official pre-season test at Silverstone. The O’Show is now gearing up for the opening races of 2019 and feeling bullish about his chances.

O’Halloran said: “The testing has gone really well pre-season and it was nice to get back to familiar territory last week at Silverstone. I felt in a good place after riding in all conditions there and you never know what will happen until the first race, but we start in a strong place and I am feeling confident and that is all we can ask for at this point. I have to say though I like the feeling of being on top of the timesheets so far!

“I do feel more confident starting this season than I have in the past and also more relaxed because I am satisfied with what we have achieved so far in testing. We are turning up this weekend ready to put our best foot forward; you certainly don’t forget the feeling of being on top, but once you are there you want to keep it. That’s the mind set – I want to be first not second.”

The ninth round of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship takes place at Oulton Park on September 6/7/8 for the Showdown Title Fighter decider. for more information and to book visit
