O’Halloran confident for Cadwell Park after Thruxton progress

Jason O'Halloran claimed his best results of his 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship campaign last time out at Thruxton with the McAMS Yamaha rider bagging a pair of fourth places after a tough first half of the season.

O’Halloran is feeling confident that Thruxton was a turning point in the season and despite Cadwell Park being renowned as one of the most technical circuits on the calendar, the Australian is determined to build on the momentum in a bid for his first podium finish of the season this weekend.

O’Halloran said: “It was really nice to be back fighting at the front at Thruxton; leading the race and feeling really confident. It was a really smooth weekend with no issues and that gave us the opportunity to really build some momentum going into the races.

“I felt strong in race one and was fighting for the podium and ended up fourth after the last lap but to be honest I felt happy with that as we were still there in the battle. In race two after the restarts I felt good again and was pushing for the podium again. I saw that Scott [Redding] had got the long lap penalty and he was ahead of me, but then he didn’t do it, and it was that one place away from battling with the guys for the podium.

“I left Thruxton feeling happy with our best results of the season so far and that was what we needed. We scored some good points and now we go to Cadwell Park feeling good and it is a track I enjoy. The races are always difficult there, but there is no pressure on me. I haven’t ridden the McAMS Yamaha there yet, but we want to be back racing at the front again this weekend.”
