It’s an Irwin hat trick! Graeme Irwin confirms place on Bennetts BSB grid with Team 64 Motorsport

Former British Motocross champion Graeme Irwin is to join brothers Glenn and Andrew in the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, switching from the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship where he made his circuit debut last year.

Carrickfergus-based Irwin delivered a distinguished career in British Motocross before an injury saw him switch disciplines to line up in the Superstock class on tarmac for the first time, claiming a best result of a top ten finish at Cadwell Park. Graeme will line up on the Bennetts BSB grid with Team 64 Motorsport when the season gets underway at Silverstone this Easter (April 10/11/12).

Graeme will make his debut at the end of the month at the first official test at Monteblanco in Spain, before moving on to Jerez.

Graeme Irwin said: “I’m incredibly excited to be riding the Team 64 Kawasaki in the British Superbike Championship. One of my aims was to work with a crew chief who has also raced and Aaron fits the bill perfectly.

“Of course I’ll be up against my brothers. We’re a very close family and respect one another but when the lights go out we all have a job to do!”

Team 64 Principal, Aaron Zanotti commented: “Myself and the team are delighted and really looking forward to working with Graeme, he has an impressive pedigree and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this season.”
