GR Motosport announce Lahti and Stacey plus continued association with Stauff UK

GR Motosport Ltd has announced they will compete in both the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 and 600 Championships this season with Finland’s Eemeli Lahti and Storm Stacy, as the team continue an extended partnership with STAUFF UK for a sixth consecutive year.

The STAUFF Quick Connect Superstock Team and Academy will supply Kawasaki machinery to Lahti in the Superstock 1000 Championship and 15-year-old Stacy in the Superstock 600 Championship.

Lahti said: “I'm super excited to be racing in the championship again. This is a huge opportunity for me racing with a fantastic team and bike in such a competitive series. This is going to be my first year with a big bike and with a foreign team.

“We just need to work hard together and get faster and stronger every day and we will fight for podiums quickly. I want to thank everyone involved, the team and my own sponsors, family, and everyone around me. 2019 is going to be amazing.”

Stacey said: “We took a good look at running in Moto3 again but felt that my height was becoming an issue and I wanted to make sure that I made the right move. I think that joining the Stauff Quick Connect Academy on a Kawasaki 636 for Superstock 600 will helps me develop as a rider in the right environment.

“It’s a late start so the hard work starts now and I am really looking forward to getting stuck into learning as much as I can. I would like to thank Brent and the team for offering me this opportunity and of course my family and personal sponsors for their continued support.”

Brent Gladwin, Managing Director of GR Motosport added: "I am over the moon to continue our partnership with STAUFF who are another great Sheffield based company. John, his team and I share many of the same ethos in all we do in life, business and sport so we fit well together.

“We are delighted that both Eme and Storm have signed with us as we have the perfect mix of youth, experience and success as both are young race winners. Anyone who has witnessed their races know they go all out for fun and results, something I am looking forward to again.”

John Morris, Managing Director of Stauff UK commented: “Once again we are very pleased to sponsor Brent and his team, with two Superstock classes as lead Sponsor and co-sponsor with WD40 on the British Superbike. We look forward to some exciting race meetings ahead where we can welcome customers old and new, so good luck to all the riders, this could be our year.”
