Godfrey joins by Team IMR by Team IMR have today (Wednesday) announced the signing of Ben Godfrey for the remaining four rounds of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

The Isle of Man-based squad will concentrate their efforts on the Long Eaton rider between now and the end of the season with the 23-year old joined by highly experienced Adrian Gorst for the remainder of 2018 with the former Honda Racing crew chief overseeing Godfrey’s campaign.

Godfrey has been contesting the Dickies British Supersport Championship this year but will turn his attention back to the Superstock series where he enjoyed some strong rides between 2015 and 2017. Last year saw him score points on five occasions, with a best of 12th place at Thruxton.

The team have a test planned for Godfrey at Oulton Park this weekend prior to making his official debut for the team at round eight of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Cadwell Park on August 17-19.

Godfrey said: “I’m delighted to have signed with by Team IMR for the remainder of the season. Both myself and the team have had a tough start to 2018 and I am confident that I can put the team back where they should to be! I have never been in a team who can offer me such good support so I’m really looking forward to it! Having a team full of experience providing me with their extensive knowledge I am confident we can hit the ground running and be back to where we both deserve to be.”

Ian Moffitt, Team Manager commented: “Ben is a talented rider and we had the opportunity to work with him a while ago which we both wish had happened much sooner. He’ll get to test the bikes this week and then will use the next round at Cadwell Park for further testing.”
