South African Bjorn Estment will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship paddock this season with Everquip/Catfoss Racing, making his debut in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship onboard a Suzuki GSXR 1000 machine.

Everquip Racing and Catfoss Group have joined forces over the winter and Estment has just recently returned to the UK and is eagerly awaiting his first test of the Suzuki at the Spanish circuit of Cartagena in early March.

Estment said: “I am thrilled to be making my return to the Bennetts British Superbike paddock and even more excited for the new challenge that lies ahead. I have had a fair bit of experience onboard the big bikes at Suzuka and Oschersleben in the World Endurance series and got on very well with the adaptation from Supersport machinery.

“I can’t wait to begin testing now and learning every lap we circulate. The Suzuki is beautiful and I believe it is the right tool for the job. I can’t thank Stuart, all at Everquip, Ben (Catfoss Group) and all of my other loyal sponsors for making this possible. Here’s to a great, fast and safe 2019.”

Catfoss Managing Director Ben Foreman concluded: “We are extremely proud to continue to support Bjorn Estment in his quest for success. Last year saw Catfoss support the Everquip team and this year we are pleased to support further and create the ‘Everquip/Catfoss Racing’ Team. The aim is to create a consistent ride that will make us the one to watch in the Superstock 1000.

“Bjorn and the team demonstrated in 2017 under Everquip management, that as a team, they have what it takes for success. 2018 had its challenges but wasn’t short of excitement and yet again Bjorn and the team showed true grit and determination. We hope that the 2019 race season will deliver the much desired and deserved success for Bjorn and the team.”
