Max Cook celebrated a treble ZYN British Superbike Championship podium finish at Donington Park earlier in the season and the AJN Steelstock bimota contender is feeling fired up to be back in the fight for the top three this weekend.
Cook has been rebuilding momentum following his heavy crash at Thruxton, before making his comeback at Cadwell Park. Two fifth places were the highlight of his weekend at TT Circuit Assen, but now feeling back to full fitness, the local contender has high hopes for Donington Park this weekend.
Cook said: “I’m excited to get to Donington Park now. I’m fully fit and ready to go! Assen was a really solid weekend, but just wasn’t any firework moments as such. Donington this weekend, obviously I did so well there for the pre-season test and at the round where we were there before, so hoping to continue that through.
“I know the bike is amazing around there and I know we’ve got some good things coming up. Wet or dry I’m happy with the bike and I know we’ll be at the front either way; they’ll be a few more guys in the mix as it’s the Showdown part of the season, so the races aren’t going to get any easier that’s for sure!
“I am very excited to head to a good track and obviously Brands Hatch coming up a bit later too, but I’m just really excited to finish the season at these two tracks and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do.”
