Honda Racing’s Ryan Vickers enjoyed a strong weekend at his home circuit of Snetterton for the fourth round of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship, securing fourth and fifth place finishes in two of the three races.
The weekend got off to a solid start for Vickers on Friday, finishing both free practice sessions inside the top three, and in the all-important pre-qualifying session, he continued to improve, slashing two tenths of a second off his lap time, securing him a direct Q2 place.
Vickers qualified in ninth before claiming a solid fifth place, but in race two, he was forced into the pits after he was hit by another rider at turn two, requiring the team to repair damage to his exhaust.
In the final race of the weekend, Vickers had a rapid start and, after the opening lap, became embroiled in a five-rider battle for the podium. However, in the closing stages, he made a small mistake, which ultimately cost him on the final lap, and he had to settle for his third fourth-place finish of the season.
Vickers said: "It's always fantastic going back to Snetterton. It's my home round and I get amazing support from all the fans. I must admit I can't thank them enough for all their support; it gave me a lot of motivation throughout the weekend.
"We started well. We were in the top three in both free practice sessions. I wasn't too happy with the feeling of the bike, but I was able to go into Saturday with high hopes after the work we'd done as a team. Qualifying wasn't too bad. It's not where I wanted to be after the start to the weekend we'd had, but I knew it was going to be difficult to match some of the other guys on new tyres.
"I had a really good first race and came home fifth, managing to make up quite a few positions. Some of the chatter issues were still there and I was losing a lot of time in the final sector, so we really needed to figure that out. The bike felt really good in other areas though, so it became a balancing act, if I'm honest.
"The team worked hard overnight to come up with new ideas that we planned to try in the sprint race, but I was taken out at Turn Two, which caused a fair bit of damage to the bike. Fair play to the team—they did a brilliant job of fixing it all and getting me back out. I focused on getting a good lap time. It wasn't easy, but I was really happy with the time I set.
"Starting race three from sixth was great. I got a good start, I was in the battle, I managed to keep the pace of the leaders and had some great fights. Being in the battle for the podium was great. We made a big step with the bike and I can't thank the team enough for what they've done. We've closed the gap to the win and this bodes well heading into the next round at Brands Hatch."
