Matt Truelove will return with TAG Racing Honda for the 2026 Pirelli National Superstock Championship after a strong season last year with the Swadlincote based team.
Truelove enjoyed a successful 2025 with the team, achieving three podiums throughout the season, with the highlight result at his home circuit of Cadwell Park. He rounded the year out fourth in the standings, just 11.5 shy of the top three.
The 36-year-old joined TAG Racing in 2023 and since then has consistently improved, becoming a regular front-runner in the Superstock series, and is aiming for more in 2026 alongside Jaimie Van Sikkelerus.
Truelove said: “I’m really excited to be back for a fourth year with the TAG Racing team in 2026, they’re like a second family to me and as a group we work really well together, so it would have been foolish to look to go elsewhere.
“Each year we have improved on track, we have developed the bike incredibly well and I feel heading into 2026 we’re going to hit the sweet spot and be a real threat for the title. That’s my aim, I want to do everything I can to win the Championship and I know I have everything at my disposal to make this happen.
“I’m extremely motivated, I’m training hard and ensuring that I’m in the best shape ahead of pre-season testing. I need to thank everyone who has made this possible, Rob, Tracy, Gary and all my personal sponsors, I have a great feeling about 2026.”
Team manager Gary Winfield: “We’re really pleased to welcome Matt back to the team for a fourth season, and we have a very positive feeling heading into the 2026 campaign after what he did in 2025.
“To finish just a handful of points shy of the top three proved we had a fantastic year together, but we look back at certain moments and think ‘what could have been.’ We’re ensuring that we don’t have those feelings in 2026 and we believe that Matt can be a true Championship challenger.
“He’ll have the same bike, but with a host of upgrades that we’ve worked on during the winter which we feel will benefit Matt in many ways. He’ll also have the same crew and that continuity is key for both of us to kick on as soon as the year starts.”
