The Superbike Advocates Racing team have been continuing their build up to their much-anticipated debut season in the British Superbike Championship in 2026 by joining the Aruba Racing Ducati team at the Superbike World Championship test at Portimao circuit.
The team took delivery of a WSBK specification Ducati V4 R for an initial shakedown test at the Portuguese track ahead of their return to the UK later this week to begin their preparations to build the BSB specification machine for their forthcoming campaign. Bridewell was also invited to complete some laps for the Aruba Racing Ducati test team, despite the wet and tricky conditions.
Bridewell said: “Today has been the first day aboard the Superbike Advocates Racing Ducati V4R in Portimao. The weather has not been amazing, I am not going to lie! It has been patchy and then it nearly dried up, then it hammered it down again. It still has been a busy day for me; we were helping the factory team and doing some laps on their bikes which was an honour for sure for a lad from Wiltshire! That was amazing.
“I then got out on our bike this afternoon and instantly had a smile upon my face; it made me remember why I go racing a motorbike. I can’t wait to continue working with the Superbike Advocates Racing team and they have done an amazing job to pull everything together and also thank you to Ducati for making sure the bikes were ready for here.
“The weather isn’t looking amazing for tomorrow but nevertheless I will have a smile on my face to be back riding again. We have work to do, and that is part of the fun of it for me, so let’s see what happens and I think we have a great time ahead.”
