Henry Snell became the first champion in the paddock this season as he clinched the Superteen title with a commanding lights-to-flag win at Donington Park.
The Australian hit the front at the start and was never challenged as he coasted to victory, beating his points rival James Cook by 6.667secs to seal the championship.
Cook had been slow off the line and dropped down to fourth at the start, holding him up as Snell cleared off into the distance. Despite clawing his way back up the order, it was too late to make any impact on Snell’s lead.
"I’m absolutely over the moon," he said. "I’ve been working so hard for this my whole life. To come back after last season and do it, I’m honestly lost for words. I want to thank everyone who has helped get me here, I just can’t believe it."
Calum Beach finished in a lonely third place as Marley Mackenzie crossed the line fourth with Craig Dance fifth.
