Kenny Macleod made up for missing out on a top four Heat result this afternoon by powering through the pack to win this evening’s LCQ race.
Macleod had highsided out of Heat Two on the final corner while running P4 and was forced to line up in p18 and second last in the eight-lap shoot-out.
Luke Foreman hit the front on the opening lap as Macleod made up seven places to move to p11 and a lap later made a pass on Brandon Petty for second, but Petty took the place straight back.
The lead swapped between Petty and Foreman a couple of times until Macleod hit the front with just over a lap to go – but there was still drama to come, as Petty and Foreman had a coming together on the final lap, Foreman crashing out and Petty able to rejoin to limp home – but was later disqualified for causing a crash.
Ahead, Macleod was already over the line and celebrating his win and place in tomorrow’s Main Event.
Alex Vella was second with Jim Lee third, Ben Rybicki fourth and Harry Gower fifth.
