Bradley Ray returns to Snetterton for the third round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship with a 12-point lead in the standings as the Raceways Yamaha rider aims to stay on top in Norfolk next weekend (June 20/21/22).
Ray has completed a clean sweep of five podiums from five races so far in 2025 on his return to Bennetts BSB and will be pushing to maintain his consistency when the Bennetts BSB battle reaches Norfolk. The 2022 title-winner has quickly readapted to the championship after his time on the world stage, instantly showing his incredible pace with the returning Raceways Yamaha team.
Ray said: “The first two rounds have obviously been pretty good for myself, Steve and the Raceways Yamaha team. Honestly, I didn’t really expect to have the results that we have been having so soon; I obviously knew we would be fast as we had been strong in testing at both Donington and Oulton and had been fast at round one. It was a shame to have had that third in the Sprint Race at the first one, but the pace this year has been incredible everywhere we have been – lap records have been going in the races and qualifying and the race times have been faster than they have ever been before, especially at Donington.
“I am feeling really good in the team and with the bike and being on the Yamaha for a good few years now, with the different spec in the World Championship the previous two years, so it is nice to be back in BSB on that spec bike again.
“There have been a few changes to the bike since I left in 2022 and I feel better now than I did in that season. The pace has been good and I have been maybe setting the pace and putting a bit of a target to chase at the first two rounds but I am just going about my business in my own way and working through the weekends in my own way.
“I have the one lap speed but also we have found some good consistency in the races and enabled us to turn out fast laps for a longer time in the races and I am able to lead from the front but also battle if I need to and be patient when I need to.
“It is only the start of the season and we have plenty more races and plenty more rounds to go this year so I am not looking at the championship as of yet, I am honestly just really enjoying being back in BSB and back with Yamaha and this new team. I am also enjoying being fast, back at the front and getting that winning buzz back, knowing that I have the team and the equipment underneath me to push for results and that is the most important thing for me.
“We just need to keep working in this way and keep our heads down, keep working as we are as there are always a few things that we can always improve and manage throughout race weekends, but since coming back from World Superbike I feel that I have changed as a rider, and approached things differently this year. I am quite calm and relaxed and I know the potential of the bike and myself and the team so we need to keep working in this direction and take it round by round and keep enjoying it.”
