Ducati UK caught up with Lee Khouri from Supercar Advocates when he visited the Ducati London store in Vauxhall last week, to discuss his exciting British Superbike plans for 2026, which include WorldSBK and Ducati legend Carl Fogarty.
"We all know Foggy and his accomplishments for the Ducati brand, being a four-time champion in WorldSBK. Neil Young, who represents me in the UK and who’ll be the Team Logistics Manager, gained a connection to Foggy himself, so we decided to make something happen.
“I started the Australian Superbike team Advocates Racing with the potential for a few wildcard rounds in WorldSBK, something we're looking at for early next year. And Neil suggested with all our bikes and everything that we have in the collection, why don't we start something in British Superbikes? And that got me excited, I thought it was a brilliant idea.
“Neil spoke with Foggy who was up for it. Before you knew it, we’d all met and decided to make it happen. We’ve put it into motion, we’re deep into it all, everything’s established and we are good to go. We’re speaking to multiple riders right now and real close to securing one, as well as ordering our new bike, the Panigale V4 R, a WorldSBK grade bike which will be released next year. Everything’s coming together.
“Meanwhile my ASBK team is performing well, with Glenn Allerton having won our first race at Queensland Raceway on the Superbike Advocates Racing Panigale in front of 23,000 fans. It’s quite rare for a team to do that having just come into the paddock this year, so that’s a big accomplishment in our eyes.
“That fuels the passion even more to want to continue racing. I made a promise to the team that we will try our best for WorldSBK, but we are in BSB 100% next year. I will always make sure that we can perform to our best. We want, we need, a winning Ducati team. That’s what it’s all about.
"I love Ducati. It's in my blood you could say, since my early days. I've got every Ducati ever made pretty much, I've got one or two of each in my collection, over 100 and something bikes. Proper delivery mileage bikes, each one looks like a brand-new bike. I’m so passionate about it, I've even got them inside my house which is a crazy thing, in the downstairs living room, in the office space, even one in a bedroom.
“It's a true passion. And with the race team too, because of little bit of Italian background DNA in the family, I want to honour the heritage roots with the brand. So, I'm doing the tricolore colour scheme, with the Australian team, and our BSB and WorldSBK bikes that will all carry the tricolore scheme to stay in with the tradition of Ducati. It’s just a homage to the Ducati brand and its origins.
“This new BSB team is a real passion project. Carl Fogarty is a number one name in the motorcycle racing world, with what he achieved with Ducati and WorldSBK, so what better fit than having myself and Foggy as a Team Principal come together. Plus we'll have the experienced Alan Jackson as Team Manager, with Jackson Racing Team running the team.
“We have the capability of having two riders, but for the first year in BSB we’ll run with just one. We need to feel things out, we have to gel, get everything in motion and ensure it's a smooth operation before moving on to two riders.
“We’re aiming to have an official team launch by the end of the year, so watch this space for news about that, and for confirmation of our 2026 rider."
