Bradley Ray claimed the fastest lap in Omologato Superpole at Cadwell Park, firing the Raceways Yamaha to the top of the times, displacing Bennetts British Superbike Championship rival Kyle Ryde from the top spot by 0.195s.
John McPhee was the first rider to take on Omologato Superpole as the MasterMac Honda rider made it through the Bandero Café Shoot Out Q1 session to qualify, he set the initial benchmark time, but it was soon Billy McConnell and then Max Cook who went to the top of the times.
Glenn Irwin was next on the Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha, but as he continues his return from injury and adaptation to the Yamaha R1, he posted the fourth fastest time to leave him potentially in 15th.
Rory Skinner was next, and the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati rider moved to the top of the times, and stayed there until Storm Stacey posted the fastest lap of the session so far on the Bathams AJN Racing BMW.
Andrew Irwin and Christian Iddon would start in eleventh and eighth respectively, as they posted their Omologato Superpole lap times after Skinner in the running order, but Stacey’s time at the top was then displaced as Danny Kent fired the McAMS Racing Yamaha ahead.
Leon Haslam was the next rider to attack his flying lap, but the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing rider crashed at Barn unhurt and caused a red flag in Omologato Superpole with debris and the bike in the track. He will start the opening Bennetts BSB race from 15th on the grid and the last of the Omologato Superpole qualifiers.
Scott Redding had been on his warm up lap at the time of Haslam’s crash and subsequent red flag, which meant he would the complete his lap last on the Hager PBM Ducati and when he did, he posted a time to put him tenth on the grid.
Charlie Nesbitt on the MasterMac Honda was the first rider after the red flag and his time would eventually put him fifth overall, as Tommy Bridewell launched the Honda Racing UK team to the top, despite a crash in Free Practice 3 putting themselves up against it to repair the machine in time for the session.
Bridewell would eventually start third though as Ray was up next and he stormed to the top of the times and it was then down to Ryde to try to topple him from the top. The Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha rider came close, but it wasn’t enough and the 2022 champion held the edge, with Ryde and Bridewell completing the front row.
