Powerslide Racing Suzuki will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid for the final two rounds of the season as Finnish rider Eemeli Lahti returns to the series for the Donington Park and Brands Hatch events.
Lahti returns to the British Championship in conjunction with his HRP Suzuki crew, combining forces with Powerslide Racing to attack the final six races of the season, bringing experience from the World and British Supersport and Superstock classes.
Lahti said: “I’m absolutely buzzing for this opportunity. The past few years have been difficult so this is a dream come true. To race with a proper bike and crew is giving me so much confidence even though I haven’t had a chance to be on a bike as much as the rest of the grid. A huge thanks to everyone who has made this possible and HRP Suzuki for making this possible.”
Team Owner Brad Clarke commented: “I am absolutely stoked to be returning to the Superbike paddock with Eemeli. After several difficult decisions to make this year and only having Levi Day representing us the whole season in Superstock, it is a breath of fresh air to have things sorted to end this season on a high.
“I would like to thank Steve Hicken of Hawk Racing who was been instrumental in this deal being finalised and to everyone who has supported the team. We know it will take a while for Eemeli to adjust to the bike but there is absolutely no pressure on him at all. Although, having said that we also know how fast he is so we wouldn't be surprised by a strong result!”
